Aunt Polly-Tom’s Aunt Polly, that is-and Mary and the Widow Douglas are all in that book, which was mostly true, except for some exaggerations, as I said before. I never met anybody who hasn’t lied at one time or another, except for maybe Aunt Polly, the widow, or Mary. He exaggerated some things, but most of it was true. Mark Twain wrote that book, and what he wrote was mostly true. You wouldn’t have heard of me unless you’ve read a book called The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. Aunt Polly-Tom’s Aunt Polly, she is-and Mary, and the Widow Douglas is all told about in that book, which is mostly a true book, with some stretchers, as I said before. ![]() I never seen anybody but lied one time or another, without it was Aunt Polly, or the widow, or maybe Mary. ![]() There was things which he stretched, but mainly he told the truth.
